Landscape (Livestock)

The uniqueness and authenticity of Somiedo destination is reflected in its cultural and ethnographic heritage, mainly related to livestock, the main economic sector of the council. The use of extensive grazing and transhumance have given rise to a characteristic modeling of the landscape, formed by numerous “brañas” and infrastructures: cabanas, corros, hurrus, olleras… with their own identity and a great attraction for visitors to the destination.
