FAQS
There are two main entrance routes to Somiedo Natural Park, from Asturias or from León:
-From Asturias, take the AS-227 road that passes through Belmonte, which starts at the junction with the AS-15 or “Corredor del Narcea”.
-Another way to access from Asturias is through the Puerto de San Lorenzo, taking the AS-265 road from Teverga, which will take you to the AS-227 road at the village of La Riera.
-From the neighboring province of León, take the LE-495 road, starting at the junction with the CL-626 in Piedrafita de Babia. This road takes us to the village of Santa María del Puertu, or El Puerto, which is the provincial boundary. We will continue along the same road, now AS-227, to La Pola Somiedo.
Pola de Somiedo, or La Pola, is the capital of the municipality of Somiedo. The limits of the municipality coincide with those of the Natural Park.

You can enjoy Somiedo throughout the four seasons of the year. In winter, during the snowy periods, snowshoeing and ski touring routes are very popular. In spring the explosion of life and color floods the park, and it is one of the best times for wildlife observation. Summer is the period with the highest number of visitors, most of whom come to enjoy the hiking trails. And autumn has as protagonist the rutting, the observation of bears feeding to face the winter, and the spectacular colorful forests and beech forests.
